The quilt with a story

It's finished.
It took about 4 or 5 years.
It has been back & forward between Australia & NZ.
I decided to hand quilt every square/rectangle...queen size and hand quilted!
We upgraded to a King size bed during the making - but I am determined it will stay on our bed.
It is made up of many of my favourite fabrics, Oily Lily, Amy Butler...and backed with red & white polka dots - of course.
I love it.
I am immensely proud.

WOW Leonie - what an achievement! It would take me 4 or 5 years to complete a quilt by hand, too, I'm sure of it! :o)

It looks beautiful, the fabrics/colours are so YOU. and I wouldn't worry about the size of it on your new bed - it looks just fine! Your cat obviously thinks so, too :o) Jen x

P.S. I especially like the photo of the quilt hanging on the washing line, blowing in the wind.

Wow! Well done! I made a single quilt by hand with four friends and that took us 6 months ... on my own I don't think I'd ever have finished it, let alone made a queen-sized one!! Your quilt is fabulous.

p.s. don't forget to put a tag on with your name, when you finished it, and where .. so that future generations can enjoy it and know where it came from :-)

I found you by chance, the quilt is amazing, I love the bold bright colours and I confess now that I am about to wade into my stash to copy cat. I will post it on my blog and give you the credit. I am also going to be making the yoyo Christmas tree although I call them Suffolk Puffs.
